I played RuneScape as a child 18 years ago. I had no idea what I was I had been doing. I began a new account for RS gold (I'm assuming that is what I'm playing, tbh I don't even know) a few weeks ago and I am still learning the fundamentals. I really don't believe I have a tutorial island and my Burthorpe quests only...disappeared mid-path. I stumbled that, together with viewing youtube videos and googling every step of the way, I managed to make some decent progress and finished up.
There's still a lot on the display I simply don't know what it is. I happened across the Treasure Hunter screen and I believe by poking from the keys I'm doing that right. Dunno exactly what oddments are as a money so I'm not screwing myself in that regard by dismissing it for now. After obtaining a couple while grinding for jobs but I do not know what that's about. I managed to sell some things I made during my XP grind and vaguely understand the Grand Exchange but I don't know its mechanisms. Are real people purchasing my oakshortbows or is an artificial industry? I am lost on that.
I've got stats I've never touched like thieving. I did you quest involving a pie that is rancid which gave me a XP for that but what I have tried to slip from requires a higher level and I just have not looked into googling how to begin that process. That's just 1 example. I am assuming runecrafting and dungeoneering qnd creations and these other stats I haven't encountered will come up in time but it worries me out that I just don't know whether I'm making very good progress without seeing those things. I understand finally after performing quests and forcing myself into jobs that require me to google the way to get to a specific level in a stat for those needs that it will all eventually sink in.
I just don't know if I'm doing it efficiently. I kind of kindly picking on pursuit paths and leveling the best that I could up. I'd have LOVED a complete, exactly what it means and included crash course on everything on the screen and where things could change. It's very overwhelming but I am loving my time so far--just sucks that the majority of my gameplay is studying through wikis and viewing youtube videos trying to figure out what the hell Im supposed to be doing.
